Review - Workshop at Regional Science Centre and Planetarium Calicut.

Today 10th of October 2022. It was a fantastic day for the four of us - Sreedevi S of X-C, Azraa Riyas of IX-B, Raihaan Abeed of VIII-C and Sai Krishnan Raja P K of VIII-C. We were indeed fortunate to have a memorable outing as we attended the workshop at Regional Science Centre and Planetarium Calicut. The theme for this special workshop was rocket modelling of all things!
It was a very informative session from 10.30 am to 4 pm. We got to learn about what a rocket is and how it works. We were also told about the history of rockets. Now it was our turn to make real mini-rockets!
We started to make a rocket module with a 2 litre Seven-up bottle. Students from various schools were there and all together we did many activities such as cutting, painting, coloring etc. We all worked in teams and the Sir gave us instructions. At last we took our rockets to a readymade launch pad in which the fuels are water and air. All the teams had their rockets on the launch pad and amazingly for us, they all flew high. It was a very proud moment to watch our rockets fly high among the clouds along with the birds. This was a very memorable and informative session.
Heartfelt thanks to the Fr John Mannarathara CMI for selecting us and to the Planetarium authorities who organized this program.
