Is socialism and equality being questioned in the current times? This was a question that media person Ms Smruthy Paruthikad brought up at the school Investiture Day held on 12 July 2022 in the auditorium. Ms Smruthy, who is Senior Coordinating Editor at the news channel Media One, advised boys not to show bias towards girls; her advice to girls was to strive hard in education, to be independent by getting a job of their choice and only then to marry. In passing, she had a few words of appreciation for the gender equality practised at Silver Hills Public School, seeing the mixed seating of boys and girls in the auditorium.
The welcome dance was choreographed by Ms Kavitha Satish Kumar Students of classes VIII and IX danced to the theme Guru. Principal Rev Fr John Mannarathara delivered the welcome address. He highlighted how the school parliament stands for democracy at the school level. He also touched upon the topics of self-discipline, critical and creative thinking, political literacy and social sensitivity. Ms Manjula A, faculty, introduced the chief guest.
Smruthy talked about the examples of recent sensational cases in the society, such as sexual assault on the film actress and how a female judge and a retired woman IPS officer had responded in a negative way to it. She mentioned the personal vendetta against her on social media and how police officials were indifferent about it.

Fr Augustine K Mathew, Administrator, presented a memento to the chief guest. Ms Chitra P, faculty, administered the oath to all school parliament members. Ms Aditi Chatterjee, Dean of Studies and Mr Muraleedharan, PTA President offered felicitations. This was followed by speeches by some of the elected members. Meher, Chairperson, spoke on Fascism. Edwin Philip Prasad, Vice Chairperson, spoke about Student Politics in Campuses. Abhinav Sajith, Assistant School Leader, spoke about Unemployment and Unemployability.
A recreation of a speech of Malala Yousafzai by Lakshmi Manoram of IX A was then presented. This declamation drove home the point that one child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world. The event ended with a melodious patriotic song. Singers trained by faculty, Mr Ajay Kumar. The vote of thanks was proposed by the school leader, Ms Naina Nair.
