Silver Hills Public School Reopening: A Vibrant Celebration of Learning and Togetherness 

Kozhikode, June 2, 2025: Silver Hills Public School, Kozhikode burst into vibrant colors as we marked the beginning of the new academic year 2025-26 with a grand reopening ceremony and Praveshanotsav/Welcome Festival. The inaugural meeting was held in the school auditorium, radiating warmth and joy, as the whole school community came together to celebrate the start of a new journey.

The program commenced with a traditional Guruvandanam, led by students Nakshathra, Arya, and Vaiga Sudheesh, accompanied by a serene Rangapooja, choreographed by Ms. Shabna, which filled the atmosphere with devotion and spirituality.

Rev. Fr. Augustine K. Mathew CMI, Manager of Silver Hills Group of Institutions, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. "I would like to congratulate the Principal and staff, students, and parents for last year's superb results. As we begin this new academic year, I wish you all a journey filled with growth, success, and cherished memories. May this year be a milestone in your academic pursuits, and may you continue to make us proud," Rev. Fr. Augustine K. Mathew CMI said, setting the tone for the new academic year.

Dr. Beena Philip, Mayor of Kozhikode, inaugurated the celebration and delivered the keynote address, inspiring the young minds with her words of wisdom. "The true aim of education is not just to achieve academic success, but to gain life enlightenment. While excelling in exams is important, it's equally essential to develop a broader perspective on life. Being a successful student is not just about achieving high grades, but also about standing with those who are less fortunate. It's about developing empathy and compassion towards others": the Mayor pointed out.
Dr. Beena Philip concluded by praising Silver Hills Public School, saying. "This is the Silver Jubilee year of Silver Hills, one of the top-standard schools in Kerala. I appreciate the management and staff for their tireless efforts in shaping young minds," stated the Mayor.
Fr. Mathew Kalapurayil CMI, Principal of Silver Hills Public School, delivered the Principal's address. He began his address by welcoming the students, especially the newly admitted students, to the new academic year. "We aim not only to sharpen your minds but to shape your lives, dear students. You need to inspire others' lives by doing good. Speak all the good you see. We are proud to be a part of your journey, and we promise to nurture your talents, guide your steps, and support your dreams," said the Principal, emphasizing the school's commitment to the students.
The Mayor released the school handbooks, including the Teachers' Handbook, which was received by Vijith P and Geetha EK, Staff Secretaries. Anvitha of Class XII received the Students' Handbook, while Daksh of UKG received the KG Handbook. Additionally, the Mayor launched Newscape, a new initiative by the Principal to encourage newspaper reading among students. Vighnesh Krishna of Class 2 received the first copy of Newscape.

Madhusoodhanan K, President of the PTA, and Vijith P, Staff Secretary, delivered heartfelt felicitation speeches, praising the school's achievements and reiterating their support.

Meha Haseeb of Class X shared her reflections, while Nakshathra M, a playback singer and 'Flowers TV' Top Singer Music reality show finalist, and a student of Class VIII, mesmerized the audience with a soul-stirring song. Sanvi Sandeep of Class XII delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests, teachers, and parents.

The formal ceremony was followed by the Praveshanotsav song, sung by the school band, with lyrics by Harshan Chelembra,  music by Ajaya Kumar KA, and orchestra by Sajan K Ram. Dances choreographed by Ms. Kavitha Satish and Ms. Shabna were also staged. 


The presence and unwavering support of parents and the PTA were a testament to the strong bond between the school and its community. Their enthusiasm and encouragement were greatly appreciated.

The school's Fine Arts Department, led by Mr. Athul, created a vibrant atmosphere with their decorations, while the Digital team, led by Mr. Rajeesh, provided technical support. Ms. Chithra Anna led the anchoring, well supported by students.

The program marked the beginning of a brand new academic year, filled with promise, excitement, and endless possibilities, as the Silver Hills family embarked on a fresh journey of learning, growth, and togetherness.
