‘Learning’, ‘de-learning’ and ‘re-learning’ can be three words we can associate with education. Life teaches us many things. These ‘life-learnings’ are more powerful and lasting than the formal education.
De-learning can be a word which may be used to express the de-coding of the ‘life learnings’. Every child needs to do this ‘de-learning’. After the ‘de-learning’ one has to find out the areas where amendments are needed, where false coding had taken place and whether there was any mutation.
The final step is ‘re-learning’. It is learning new. After assessing the nature of the ‘learning’ that had already taken place, the educator and child needs to concentrate on ‘re-learning’. In ‘re –learning’ the past mistakes are not repeated. Instead new strategies are followed depending on the person in question. This learning is quite personal and life long.
